THE BLOG

Real feels and edu-tainment for entrepreneurs.

Hello there!

Let’s be honest. I can’t make any promises when it comes to my blog. Writing blogs is not fun for me. And, I don’t do things I don’t like to do. And, neither should you! (Insert strategic explanation about the importance of blogs for SEO, etc.)

I do, however, love to share stories, perspectives on the content creation landscape, and what it’s like juggling business and life. If something inspires me, I write a blog, but that’s rare. If you want a brighter insight into MCAT, check out my Instagram page.

How to Make your Content Creation Life Easier

Through working with both done-for-you and done-with-you clients, I've noticed more and more that without a solid brand kit, creating content is so much harder. Honestly, the only thing that can possibly come from this type of content is confusion (for both you and your audience) and an inability to move forward with your marketing.

Boundaries

Was it easy? Oh hell no. Responding to an email at 8pm on a Sunday was something I would usually do without a second thought. But, over time, it’s gotten easier, and so has my ability to breathe.

Wanna know what happened?

Prep for Summer

Whether you're staying close to home or spending 8 weeks trekking to and from your cottage, I'm guessing that content creation is probably going to take a backseat.

But just because you've got other plans, doesn't mean that your audience is going to stop consuming your content, looking for support, or planning for fall 2024.

So let's take a few minutes to decide how you're going to prep your Instagram for the summer.

Story Prompts

I know you know how important stories are to your overall Instagram strategy. I also know that it’s really easy to get content creator’s block when you have to show up and do it every week.

And that’s why I’m giving you a whole bunch of story prompts! Save them, share them, use them. Let’s go:

Be a fucking human

First, let's clear something up. To be personal on Instagram you DON'T have to:

share more than you feel comfortable with

share your kids/family

share really hard stuff before you're ready to, or ever

vent about things that have nothing to do with your business

Personality in content

So many people treat their content creation like they're preparing for a business presentation. It's really common to feel like you have to "put on a professional tone", “give value”, and “act like a real business owner” when you show up online.

Shitty IG advice

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

The best way to grow your business on Instagram isn’t to focus on (often fabricated) vanity metrics.

Ig strategy and audit

Your Instagram strategy is the foundation for your content creation.

When you've got one that actually makes sense for your business (and not some outdated advice like “post 5 times a week at the same time each day”), creating content stops feeling like a constant uphill battle. Because you're not starting from scratch every time - you're following a plan.

Insta Highlights

Why do I care so much about highlights you ask? Because they're so important for your customer journey! They're like a Coles Notes version of your business that lives right on your profile.
