Getting better engagement

I’m just gonna go ahead and say it:

Engagement in your social media marketing makes everything better.

I know it.

You know it.

Meta definitely knows it.

So instead of spending an hour on a post and being met with crickets, steal a page from my engagement playbook!

Here are 3 ways to make it easier than ever to boost your engagement:

1. Spice up your content: Share an unpopular opinion, your unique POV of working in your industry, or agitate the problem your audience is experiencing.

Pro tip: If you're playing with agitation marketing, remember that you don't have to be mean or overly salesy. It's about making the problem that you solve really clear, showing why it's a problem and how it's affecting your audience, and stirring the pot a little bit to illicit a bigger reaction.

Check out this post and this post for examples of agitation marketing in action!

2. Optimize your caption: Yes, your caption will explain your idea and serve your audience, but it should also be used to ask for engagement.

Pro tip: Give your audience an easy way to engage! For example, if you sell your products at markets, ask your audience to drop their favourite market seller account in the comments. Using a call to action that doesn't leave them feeling vulnerable will make it waaay easier for them to join in.

3. Hop on a current trend: One of the cool things about trends is that you can take a relatable idea and make it your own by applying it to your business, industry, niche, or personality.

Pro-tip: If you're lip-syncing, take the extra time to practice so that your version of the trend is just as engaging as the original!

Ok, put these tips to use and your Instagram will thank you! And I'll be sure to engage!

Keep on posting,
