THE BLOG
Real feels and edu-tainment for entrepreneurs.
Hello there!
Let’s be honest. I can’t make any promises when it comes to my blog. Writing blogs is not fun for me. And, I don’t do things I don’t like to do. And, neither should you! (Insert strategic explanation about the importance of blogs for SEO, etc.)
I do, however, love to share stories, perspectives on the content creation landscape, and what it’s like juggling business and life. If something inspires me, I write a blog, but that’s rare. If you want a brighter insight into MCAT, check out my Instagram page.
Customer Journey
Listen, you don't need to go viral or have thousands of followers to make your Instagram work for you. But one thing you DO need is for your profile to have a clear customer journey.
Do I have to do Reels? And other burning questions
Here are some questions I get a lot:
Should I be on Tik Tok too?
Do I keep my personal page/personal life separate?
How do you turn around low engagement?
Here’s what confidence looks like on Instagram
I can’t tell you how many people DM me and say “I just don’t feel confident enough for Instagram…I don’t know what to post, I don’t know what to write in my captions, and I hate reels!”
Why stories help you sell
Here's a question I get asked all the time:
“How do I sell in my stories without feeling icky?”
ONE YEAR YAYYY
If you asked me 3 years ago if I’d ever start my own business and leave my cushy corporate job I would have burst into laughter. I had a reliable salary, benefits, and 4 small children - who would be bananas enough to do that?
The Instagram Recipe
In social meda, it's really common to think that strategy is IT. Once you know what you're doing, you're destined for virality and a 6-figure business.
How much time are you spending on Content - Perspective from an Expert
Most days, you’re jotting down ideas in your notes app, taking b-roll 8 times in one sitting because it never looks the same as the reels you’re seeing, writing captions, and fighting with Canva graphics.
Why it’s so hard to show up
It's hard to show up honestly and openly.
Being totally yourself in your content (unbrushed teeth or otherwise) is vulnerable AF, and it feels so much safer to just cover your eyes and be who you think your audience wants you to be.
If you love Mean Girls and you run a biz, let’s be friends!
As an entrepreneur there's like 74 other things you want to be doing with your time, but those tiny squares have a hold on you. The ideas, the graphics, the videos, the captions, the pressure to get it right. And the whole time your brain is like, “OMG stop trying to make content happen! It's not going to happen!"
Why I stopped playing small…
I know, it feels way more safe to stay small and follow the crowd. And most of the time you don't even realize you're doing it! But this made me stop and ask myself: Do I want safe? Or do I want to make a fucking impact?
Instagram doesn’t have to be hard, if you can mute the noise
Raise your hand if you've said any of these:
✋🏻 “Instagram is too hard.”
✋🏻 “The algorithm hates me.”
✋🏻 “This just isn't WORKINGGGG!”
Entrepreneurs: Does Investing in Your Business Give Your Partner Sticker Shock?
Businesses borne out of passion are run with determination.
Because we wouldn't have creativity or imagination without kids.
A huge part of me is my family. I write for them. I started a business for them. One day, I’ll publish a children’s book for them.
