How to Expand the Life of your Content

I get the exact same thing from Tim Hortons every morning. And I enjoy it every morning. (Don't judge me, Tim Hortons is delicious.)

Because you don't need something to be constantly changing in order for it to be good, right? And content works the exact same way!

It's so common to think you have to reinvent the wheel with every piece of content you create…that if you say the same thing twice, you're uninspired and ineffective. But that's a really exhausting way to approach it.

So good news! Your fairy content mother is here to bust that myth, once and for all.

Repurposing your content might feel “same-y” to you, but that doesn't mean it's boring for your audience. In fact, it's helping to get the same message across in multiple ways.

Your audience needs to really understand and trust you and your business in order to buy from you. And when your content marketing is consistent, on-brand, and on-message, it'll help them do just that.

The advice I give my clients? That every piece of content should have at least 3 uses.

– A post is worthy of elaboration in stories, as a blog topic, or email marketing topic.

– A client story is worthy of a fun reel, stories, and a post.

– One testimonial is worthy of a day of stories, a post, and an email.

And, don’t forget to recycle!

For example, you can repost old stories by:

1.  Going into your archives and clicking on the story you want to reshare

2. Dragging the date into the garbage

3. Tapping the screen to resize

Then bibbidi-bobbidi-boo, you're ready to repost.

By expanding the life of your content, you're not just making your job easier. You're also making it easier for your audience to understand and build trust in your message.

Making all your content wishes come true,

Sarah
